AZAAN - Literary activities
“Using a language in authentic situations is very important for learners. So is being motivated to practice and improve”
The literary club activities provide students opportunities to practice language in a relaxed and informal environment.
The literary club provides a platform to students to promote their communication skills, increase their vocabulary and develop their writing skills.
The importance of literary club in schools basically is to inculcate among students a love for language and enhance their language skills.
Under the aegis of Azaan Literary club, literary activities are conducted on the first Saturday and the third Saturday of every month. The activities are student centered involving active participation of students.
The aim of the literary activities is to hone and develop the four major language skills – Listening, speaking, reading and writing.
A Few picks of Literary activities:
Book Review : Students make a review of the books they read, share their reviews with their peers. They become familiar with different genres, characters, plot of the story etc.
Read Walk : Students going through the reading material displayed on the bulletin boards all along the school corridors and exploring new vocabulary.
Words search and spell explore equip the students with word knowledge, which is a major resource in the development of reading skills.
Story Writing and Poem Writing:
Activities like “Talk Show” enhance the ability to think & communicate clearly & quickly.
Talk shows are also a part of our literary club activities.
